LeeAnn’s background as an award-winning reporter and producer in CNN’s documentary and investigative unit greatly informed her work as writer and archivist for When Wire Was King (WWWK).  LeeAnn’s reputation for thoroughness, tenacity, and creativity began over 25 years ago, when she worked as a freelance reporter covering East Africa, before joining CNN’s Washington, D.C. bureau. Now a well-respected freelance video producer and journalist, LeeAnn co-directed, co-produced, and wrote the groundbreaking 2017 documentary My Dear Children with WWWK colleague Cliff Hackell. LeeAnn has also shared her knowledge and expertise with the next generation of reporters by teaching broadcast journalism at George Mason University.
